Mass Sighthound Walk
A day to celebrate our sleek companions
One morning, one park, and as many sighthounds as we can get in one place. Greyhounds, whippets, lurchers, salukis, deerhounds, IGs, the lot. Bring your hound, walk with people who understand the breed, and stay for a coffee afterwards.
It is free. You just need to tell me you are coming so I know roughly how many of us to expect.

What to bring
- Your hound on a martingale collar with a dog tag, and a normal lead. No long lines, no extending leads.
- Water and a bowl. Even in September they will want it.
- Poo bags, more than you think you need.
- A muzzle if your hound wears one. Plenty will be. Nobody blinks.
- Treats if your hound is food motivated, kept to yourself rather than handed round.
House rules
- Everyone stays on lead for the whole walk. No exceptions, however good your recall is.
- If your hound needs space, say so on the day and you will get it. Nobody will think less of you.
- Ask before you let dogs greet. A group this size is a lot for a nervous hound.
- Children are welcome, but they stay with you and out of the dogs’ legs.
- If your hound is unwell or in season on the day, sit this one out and come to the next.
